Invented around 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The original recipe was lost for decades and reconstructed from memory.
Ingredients
- gin 1 oz
- cherry brandy 0.5 oz
- bénédictine 0.25 oz
- cointreau 0.25 oz
- lime juice 0.5 oz
- pineapple juice 2 oz
- grenadine 0.25 oz
- angostura bitters 1 dash
- soda water top
Instructions
Shake all ingredients except soda with ice. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice. Top with soda. Garnish with a cherry and orange slice.
